Sonoma County is home to more than 200 non-profit arts organizations along with 100s of other creative enterprises who work every day to enrich our lives with exhibits, performances, readings, happenings.  Sometimes, they are caretakers of our collective cultural identity.  Sometimes they are tour guides, leading us on an exploration into uncharted emotional waters.  And always, they are the critical threads that tie together the fabric of our creative community.  Browse this ever-growing gathering of our creative eco-system for ideas and opportunities.

Technicolor Dino
Technicolor Dino Creative Design, Creative Sonoma Grantee, Decorative Arts, Visual Arts Originally from Southern California, I first found myself in Sonoma Country to attend Sonoma State University and am excited to have recently relocated to Petaluma. Taking inspiration from my Hispanic roots, playful spirit, and a modern aesthetic I use bold colors, organic forms, and an appreciation for imperfection to create a cohesive body while creating both functional and fine art. With the addition of functional ceramics and textiles I founded, Technicolor Dino. After years of dedicating both time and effort to starting a small business, I plan to use the funds from Sonoma Creative to have a space dedicated to fine art. A place devoted to drawing and painting so I can leave the worries and to-do lists of running a small business at the door to focus on creating.
Teen Services Sonoma
Teen Services Sonoma Education, Nonprofit, Nonprofit Services

Dubbed The Tree of Possibilities, this 13-foot kinetic sculpture is made of recycled bicycle parts and culinary items representing our two social enterprises: Operation Bicycle and the Lovin’ Oven. It was created by metal sculptor Marty Munson, assisted by two teens - Alondra Perez and Leila Whitney. Together, the three determined the general design of the tree and the teens learned about weight, balance, form and space, as well as a variety of welding techniques. Hanging from the tree are flattened spoons and metal leaves imprinted with words about teen hopes and dreams for the future.

In March 2020, Sonoma Valley teens were ready to create their leaves and share their sentiments. Stamping was to take place at Teen Services, Sonoma Valley and Creekside High Schools, Mentoring Alliance locations, Art Escape, and Boys & Girls Club (The Club) organized by fine artist, Pat Meier-Johnson. COVID-19 interrupted those plans and the scheduled installation and ribbon-cutting. It was decided to install the tree and teens would add leaves to the sculpture during the following months.

Despite the interruption, Meier-Johnson was excited to see the Tree come to fruition. “Never did I dream that my whimsical idea would turn into such a beautiful structure, providing young people a way to leave their mark on the world as part of a huge, beautiful, kinetic sculpture for all to see.”

TSS Executive Director, Becky Jo Peterson agrees: “Marty was an amazing mentor to the teens and we hope the community will enjoy the sculpture and the words of teens in the Valley.”

From start to finish, this project was captured on film by video producer and journalist Russell Johnson, to document the entire project. "It was great to tell the story of the sculpture coming together under Marty Munson who shared with the young team the creative process including stamping, welding. fabricating, and balancing used recycled culinary equipment and bicycle parts," said Johnson.

Alondra Perez will begin her studies in engineering this fall and enjoyed working on the project. “Not only did I learn some new skills, but the Tree is an artistic way for teens to have their voices heard.

The Annex Galleries
The Annex Galleries Art Gallery, Business, Decorative Arts, History/Heritage, Media, Museum, Visual Arts Established in 1971, the Annex Galleries is a salon style gallery which specializes in 19th and 20th century American, European, Hispanic and Asian Fine Prints, which includes etchings, woodcuts, lithographs and screenprints, all created as original works of art and not reproducing an existing work in another medium. Our focus is broad: American color woodcut, Arts and Crafts prints, WPA prints, Modernist and Abstract Expressionist prints from the 1940s through 1960s, prints created at Atelier 17 in New York and Paris, and California prints and printmakers. Our inventory, assembled over a period of forty years, consists of over 9000 works, most of which are available on our website, which is changed daily. Our website, www.annexgalleries.com, has been active for nearly 15 years and features over 6000 works of art and is changed daily. The Annex Galleries has been the representative for the Gustave Baumann estate since 1974. The gallery also represents the prints from the estates of Anders Aldrin, Fred Becker, Dorr Bothwell, Edmond Casarella, Bernard Childs, Leonard Edmondson, Seong Moy, Augusta Rathbone, James D. Smillie and others. The gallery's recent focus is an on-line sales inventory that is in the tradition of the 19th & 20th century print galleries, such as Associated American Artists, Roten Galleries, and so many others that no longer exist. We offer a broad range of work by hundreds of known and rediscovered printmakers with a broad range of techniques, imagery and prices. Our website gives a new collector a number of images to compare or just study. We try to add as much information as we know and are adding biographies for many of the obscure artists weekly.

The Arlene Francis Center For Spirit, Art And Politics Dance, Education, Film/Video, Foundation, Literature/Poetry, Media, Music, Nonprofit, Performing Arts, Special Events, Theatre, Visual Arts Founded in 2008, the Arlene Francis Center for Spirit, Art and Politics' objective has been to create a spiritual progressive space that links art, music, theater, film, poetry, education and community action with the creation of a more loving and socially connected world. All of our events reflect our spiritual-political vision, and our aim is to create a unique, receptive, heartfelt, authentic Presence that is capable of radiating an influence reflective of our common vision in Sonoma County, and across Northern California, and the wider world through the internet and word-of-mouth. The AFC: An Innovative Center for Social Change The Arlene Francis Center for Spirit, Art and Politics is an innovative project for many reasons. These include our philosophical approach to community building and social change, our physical presence and our cultural, educational and activist programming. First, there is our philosophy of "Spiritual Activism" which guides our action. Spiritual Activism is the term we have given to the vision of social change -- a vision that emphasizes the link between social activism and the creation of an authentic, socially and ecologically connected community. Second, to carry out our vision, we are lucky to have a remarkable building that was originally a flour mill in the 19th century and has gone through a number of incarnations since then, eventually serving as a brewery and winery in the 198o's and early 1990's. The Arlene Francis Foundation acquired the building in 1996 for the purpose of providing educational and cultural activities to benefit Sonoma County, and from 1997-2008 the Foundation partnered with San Francisco's progressive New College of California to offer bachelor's and master's degrees in Culture, Ecology, and Sustainable Community. Finally, with our presence and programs, we have created a positive reputation and relationship with the local community and beyond. The Arlene has repeatedly been honored as The Best Damn Place in Santa Rosa by the local alternative paper The Bohemian, and Martin Hamilton and the Arlene Francis Center were given a Boho Award for making significant contribution to the arts in the North Bay. The Arlene Francis Center for Spirit, Art, & Politics seeks to be a wonderful synthesis of artistic, educational, spiritual and cultural projects that will contribute significantly to the social and political life of Santa Rosa and the surrounding area. Our aim in designing the Center has been to avoid creating a smorgasbord of well-meaning progressive activities, each operating under its own unstated assumptions about how best to achieve positive change. Instead, we have sought to explicitly articulate a unifying vision that joins all our activities as a multi­-faceted expression of our mission and philosophy. We are convinced that lasting social change adequate to the challenges facing humanity at this moment will only be achieved through transforming human relationships so as to overcome the fear that divides us and enables us to become present to each other in a new and affirming way.
The Art Room, Petaluma
The Art Room, Petaluma Business, Education, Kids/Family, School, Special Events, Visual Arts The Art Room offers private or semi-private mixed media and ceramics classes for people of all ages. Summer art camps for children are offered as well. Art experiences are process-oriented and encourage personal expression, creativity, and critical thinking. Students are introduced to amazing artists and art styles from around the world, instructed on various techniques for using their art media of choice, and finally guided, as needed, through the process of creating their masterpiece. Students are also encouraged to display and share their work when possible. The Art Room founder, Linsey Larimore, also specializes in creative curriculum development. As a former elementary school teacher, Larimore creates arts based lessons and units of study that are integrated with academic curriculum, like social studies, math, or science. She also creates unique projects for special events or thematic birthday parties.

The goals of the Museum and Cultural Center are to educate the public about California Indian history and cultures, to showcase California Indian cultures, to enhance and facilitate these cultures and traditions through educational and cultural activities, to preserve and protect California Indian cultural and intellectual properties, and to develop relationships with other indigenous groups and other traditional and ecological advocates.

We host over 40 acts on 7 stages with 70 or more vendors. Music is continuous from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM both days. ZYDECO DANCING FROM NOON TO DUSK BOTH DAYS. The Imagine Bus Project
The Imagine Bus Project Education, Nonprofit, Nonprofit Services, Visual Arts Through arts education and community partnerships, The Imagine Bus Project engages and inspires incarcerated youth, and youth impacted by the juvenile justice system. We enable self-expression and positive personal development so that young people can successfully re-enter their communities and find a path to a fulfilling future. THE IMAGINE BUS PROJECT ENVISIONS: Juvenile Justice system-entangled youth who are able to express themselves creatively and healthfully, take risks safely, and plan for a fulfilling, positive future. Involvement in the Juvenile Justice system as an opportunity for personal reflection, transformation and growth for adjudicated young people. Our program model demonstrating achievement of healthy self-expression, improved personal development, a positive future orientation; and, can be replicated or adapted to reach more system-involved youth. The Imagine Bus Project delivers cross-cultural learning experiences that focus on relationship building and art as tools for problem solving. We focus on exposing youth to creative opportunities and artists with the belief that art has the power to save lives and put adjudicated youth on a path towards a future in which they are healthy and empowered to lead creative and productive lives. TIBP’s Theory of Change models that youth need a creative vehicle to build confidence through creativity, develop meaningful skills through their craft, and connect with their communities in order to break the cycle of incarceration The Imagine Bus Project is a Creative Sonoma Arts Education Integration Grantee, to support the Youth Studio visual arts program in Sonoma County's Los Guilicos Juvenile Justice Center and Sonoma Probation Camp.

From bilingual works and community projects to ensemble devised creations, the Imaginists investigate and upend dominant narrative in artistic form and story, re-imagine public space, and cultivate radical inclusion in making works of art. The Lost Church Santa Rosa

In a time of great difficulty for grassroots arts and culture, our intimate 75 seat theater in downtown Santa Rosa is a haven for performers of all disciplines and backgrounds who cannot fill larger rooms but make up the heart of the North Bay underground. We serve approximately 1,000 artists and 7,000 audience members per year at our beautiful space featuring music, comedy, poetry, dance, theater, magic and more. Founded and run by local artists, we believe small venues like ours are vital to the arts ecosystem and are integral to the creation of new works, the revitalization of neighborhoods and the cultivation of an equitable and diverse cultural landscape. We see ourselves as stewards of a creative network that functions like a thriving coral reef: a dynamic, interdependent environment where artists are nurtured, ideas germinate and the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts. The Lost Church also runs a theater in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco.
The Monarch Project
The Monarch Project Arts Council/Alliance, Association/Club/Group/Guild, Creative Design, Education, Film/Video, Fine Crafts, Kids/Family, Nonprofit, School, Visual Arts The Monarch Project aims to spread a message of love and acceptance for immigrants, regardless 0f their documentation,  all across Sonoma County and beyond. Our artists and activists paint monarch butterflies on the walls of businesses, libraries, all kinds of other public places. Each butterfly comes with a QR code that will bring them to this page where the locations of all the others are displayed, and the story of each butterfly is told. We challenge everyone to find these butterflies and to listen to the stories they represent. In today’s volatile political climate, the basic rights of immigrants are being violated. We believe that immigrants are a key part of our society and economy and we refuse to allow such injustices to continue. We believe that people outweigh politics and that protecting the human rights of immigrants should not be a partisan affair. We envision a future in which immigrants are celebrated for their invaluable presence in our society, and a future in which our undocumented peers no longer have to live in fear and hiding.

The Petaluma Chorale
The Petaluma Chorale Music, Nonprofit, Performing Arts The Petaluma Chorale is a mixed vocal ensemble dedicated to the art of superior choral singing including, formal, jazz, Broadway and other contemporary styles. Our director is Linda Evans Manuilow, with accompanist Miles McKenzie. We work in 16 week sessions in the fall and spring culminating in at least two performances per session. We rehearse in Cram Hall, St Johns Episcopal Church in Petaluma.
The Progressive Tribal Alliance
The Progressive Tribal Alliance Nonprofit The Progressive Tribal Alliance (PTA) is a Native-led nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Indigenous culture, fostering leadership, and strengthening community connections. Through educational programs, cultural events, and advocacy, PTA empowers Native voices and bridges understanding between Native and non-Native communities. Our initiatives, such as the Native Arts Festival and partnerships with local governments, highlight the richness of Native traditions while addressing contemporary challenges. By supporting Native artists, engaging in community outreach, and advocating for Indigenous representation, PTA strives to build a more inclusive and united future rooted in respect, heritage, and shared growth.

She is backed by some stellar musicians and an all around wonderful group of people.  Starting in November of 2022, Tika has added new performers and filled out the band to accommodate larger gigs with Isabelle McLoone on vocals, Anthony Williams on lead guitar, Tyler Crowley on drums and the incredible Alan Roter on lead guitar, bass, organ and more!  Tika has had the pleasure of working with many other incredibly talented performers over the years including Molly Larsen-Shine, Matthew Witthaus, Liz Fanora, Rob Wegner, Chris Newton,  and Nappi Madrid.

Tika Moon - Singer/songwriter Music, Performing Arts, School, Special Events, Theatre Tika Moon is a Bay Area performer (singer, actor, and musician) performing in this area since 1996. Inspired by many different genres, Tika makes classic hit songs into her own renditions, as well as writing her own original songs about dating, life, food, and female empowerment. Her influences are shown in her theatricality and comedy as she harnesses the likes of the Flight of The Conchords, Tenacious D and Phoebe from Friends. Tika Moon is a trained professional singer with an emphasis in theatre, guitar, dance, flute, piano, and ukulele.  Tika can seamlessly go from jazz, to blues, to belting out a rock song or singing an Italian Aria. With almost 30 years of performing experience, a 3 octave range, a variety of music genres, Tika has created her own unique style of performance. Tika sometimes performs with her band, Tika & the Moonshines which features other local Sonoma County artists. Some of her favorite artists to cover include Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Whitney Houston, Brandi Carlile, The Beatles, Clare Bowen, Madonna, Lionel Ritchie, Prince, Heart, Melody Gardot, and Britney Spears to name a few. In her spare time, Tika performs locally in the theatre world at 6th Street Playhosue, The Raven Performing Arts Center, Spreckels Performing Arts, Cloverdale Performing Arts,  and Sonoma Arts Live.  You can occasionally find her singing at Senior Living Facilities, wineries and bars. By day Tika is an accounting supervisor and is also a music teacher at Art & Soul School for the Creative Arts in Santa Rosa. Tika is available for private events and weddings and more!
