In 2018, the Public Art Program and Parking Division repurposed 80 retired parking meters into Meter Made, a solar-powered light sculpture by Dana Woodman/Built by BIG.
Installed near Parking Lot 11 on 5th Street, the interactive artwork- assembled at Sebastopol’s Chimaera collective- illuminates at night, inviting visitors to play with “the happy side of parking citations.”
